Semion Mogilivich - The Brainy Don, Russia's Boss of Bosses, and FBI's top 10 most wanted! Semion Yudkovich Mogilevich is a Ukrainian-born Russian organized crime boss. He quickly built a highly structured criminal organization, in the mode of an American mafia family; many of the organization's 250 members are his relatives. He is described by agencies in the European Union and United States as the "boss of all bosses" of most Russian Mafia syndicates in the world, he is believed to direct a multibillion-dollar international criminal empire and is described by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as "the most powerful and dangerous gangster in the world." With immense power and reach at a global scale, and connections to prominent government, military and law enforcement officials and powerful politicians around the world. He has been accused by the FBI of "weapons trafficking, contract murders, extortion, drug trafficking, and prostitution on an international scale." Mogilevich's nicknames include "Don Semyon" and "The Brainy Don" (because of his business acumen). According to US diplomatic cables, he controls RosUkrEnergo, a company actively involved in Russia–Ukraine gas disputes, and is a partner of Ivan Gordiyenko. Mogilevich has three children and is closely associated with the Solntsevskaya Bratva crime group. He has alliances with political figures including Yury Luzhkov, the former Mayor of Moscow, Dmytro Firtash, and Leonid Derkach, former head of the Security Service of Ukraine. Oleksandr Turchynov, who was designated the acting President of Ukraine in February 2014, appeared in court in 2010 for allegedly destroying files pertaining to Mogilevich. Shortly before his assassination, Russian FSB defector Alexander Litvinenko claimed Mogilevich had a "good relationship" with Vladimir Putin from the 1990s. William S. Sessions, Director of the FBI from 1987 to 1993 during the presidencies of Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush, was Mogilevich's attorney in the United States until Sessions' death on June 12, 2020.

Albert Anastasia (born “Anastasio,” the masculine form of the Italian name) was a mobster who came out of the tough streets of Lower Manhattan to run one of the Five Families of La Cosa Nostra through the first half of the 20th century. Along the way, he built a reputation as one of the Mob’s most feared killers. Anastasia was reportedly a member of Murder Incorporated, the kill-for-hire crew that worked for Charlie “Lucky” Luciano and others in the years of Prohibition. Anastasia was, according to reports, one of the four men in 1931 who assassinated Giuseppe “Joe the Boss” Masseria, a powerful Mob boss, in the bloody gang rivalry known as the Castellammarese War. Anastasia was charged in three murders – in 1928, 1932 and 1933 – but in each case, witnesses either disappeared or refused to testify. Two other high-level Mob informants, both under police custody, died before their testimony helped bring Anastasia to trial, in 1941 and 1942. During World War II, Anastasia joined the U.S. Army. He also reportedly helped engineer the deal that eventually allowed Luciano, then ostensibly serving a life sentence for multiple prostitution-related convictions, to get out of prison (and go into exile in Italy) in exchange for keeping the New York City docks free of wartime Nazi infiltration. Anastasia worked for the Army training longshoremen on the East Coast. In 1943, he received U.S. citizenship for his military service, and he was honorably discharged from the Army in 1944. Eventually, Gambino moved against his sometime family boss. Anastasia was gunned down while he was sitting in a barber chair in Manhattan. Gambino assumed the family leadership, which would eventually become known as the Gambino crime family.

True Crime | True Crime Podcasts on Youtube | True Crime Documentary In this episode of True Crime Legacy, I will talk about Frank McErlane Francis "Frank" McErlane was a Chicago gangster and second-in-command of the Saltis-McErlane Gang in the 1930s, working with Joseph Saltis in the Chicago Beer Wars. He was the one who introduced the Tommy Gun to Chicago, and was known to be a brutal hitman. McErlane was born in Chicago to an Irish-American Catholic family, with McErlane carrying a Rosary in his breast pocket. McErlane became the second-in-command to Joe Saltis, a Hungarian gangster who founded the Saltis-McErlane Gang with him, creating a powerful bootlegging empire. Frank was known to always be drinking alcohol, his face getting redder each drink. His image was that of a "butter and egg" man, and was very violent. He was responsible for the murders of George Bucher and George Meegan on September 17, 1923, and escaped responsibility, but was later arrested for different crimes. In his next murder in 1924, he used the Tommy Gun for the first time; these weapons were procured from Dion O'Banion's shipment that reached Chicago after he died, and he used it in a failed attempt to kill Spike O'Donnell, who was talking with a beat cop. In 1931, he retired after shooting his wife and some "yapping" dogs in a drunken stupor and retired, dying of pneumonia in 1932. ⏳𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 ⏳ 00:00 – Intro 01:18 – Life Update 11:30 – Frank McErlane early days 13:28 – Life after prison 42:38 – Sept 7, 1923 46:56 – The “One Way Ride” 48:27 – Thaddeus S Fancher 52:19 – John “Mitters” Foley 52:49 – Vincent McErlane, the traitor 58:07 - McErlane’s CRAZY hospital stay 01:03:11 – Imaginary fight with REAL bullets 01:06:15 – Retirement Fund & McErlane’s luxurious, lonely end 🍁 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 🍁 Your source for the life and history of infamous gangsters ... and some other stuff, too. "Mad Sam" Destefano - The psychopathic serial killer for the mafia - Part 2 **Watch Part 1 FIRST Before watching this episode* "Mad Sam" Destefano - The psychopathic serial killer for the mafia - Part 1:    • "Mad Sam" Destefa...   In the 1960s, Samuel “Mad Sam” DeStefano was one of the most vicious loan sharks in Chicago. He worked closely with the mob, brutally torturing anyone who failed to pay him back on time. However, DeStefano was never an official mob member himself — because he was too unhinged even for America’s most vicious gangsters. Throughout his blood-soaked career, Mad Sam DeStefano was well-known for his violent antics. He even reportedly had a torture chamber in his sound-proofed basement along with a collection of tools with which he maimed his victims. His favorite was an ice pick. Though DeStefano brought in plenty of money for the Chicago Outfit, he was also considered a liability due to his unpredictable antics. When he and two other mobsters were put on trial for murder in 1973, his co-defendants knew they didn’t have a chance with Mad Sam on the stand — so they decided to take him out. ⏳𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 ⏳ 00:00 – Intro 03:05 – Police testimony 06:42 – Crazy Destefano stories 13:08 – 1965 Arrest 13:22 – Crimaldi Arrest 18:10 – William “Action” Jackson 25:57 – Leo Foreman 29:25 – Leo Foreman Trial 36:01 – The Downfall of “Mad Sam” 🍁 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 🍁 Your source for the life and history of infamous gangsters ... and some other stuff, too. When he and two other mobsters were put on trial for murder in 1973, his co-defendants knew they didn’t have a chance with Mad Sam on the stand — so they decided to take him out. ⏳𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 ⏳ 00:00 - Intro 02:03 - Early life 04:50 - The Herrin Massacre 10:16 - More early life 🍁 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 🍁 Your source for the life and history of infamous gangsters ... and some other stuff, too. True Crime | True Crime Podcasts on Youtube | True Crime Documentary In this episode of True Crime Legacy, I will talk about Domenic" Mick" Gatto. Domenic "Mick" Gatto (born 6 August 1955) is a professional mediator within the Victorian building industry; and a debt collector. Gatto was named as a standover man during the Royal Commission into the Building and Construction Industry. A veteran of Melbourne's underworld, Mick Gatto is one of the few survivors of Melbourne's Gangland Wars. Many of the victims were his long-time friends. Today the former heavyweight boxer runs Elite Cranes, a crane company that employs about sixty people, and Arbitrations and Mediations Pty Ltd., among others. The son of two Italian immigrants from Calabria, Gatto was raised in Melbourne and commenced working in the fruit and vegetable industry. A former boxer, in the 1980s and 1990s, Gatto was involved in Melbourne's illegal gambling scene. In 2004 Gatto was given a ten-year gaming ban, subsequently increased to a life ban. In 2004 Gatto was charged with the murder of Andrew Veniamin, a suspected underworld hitman. Gatto was remanded in custody for 18 months. He was found not guilty at trial, during which Gatto claimed he had acted in self-defence after Veniamin pulled out a .38 and threatened to kill him. Gatto claimed that during a struggle he was able to turn the gun around on Veniamin and fire one shot into his neck, and one shot in the eye. He also claimed that during the argument, Veniamin had implicated himself in the deaths of Dino Dibra, Paul Kallipolitis and Graham Kinniburgh. At the time of charging Vince Benvenuto with the 2002 murder of Victor Peirce, it was alleged that Gatto had links to both men and to Faruk Orman, the man later convicted of Peirce's murder and acquitted in 2019. No charges were laid against Gatto. ⏳𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐎 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 ⏳ 00:00:00 – Intro 00:00:46 – Life Update 00:08:55 – Mick Gatto, early years 00:12:33 – Mick Gatto, a boxer 00:15:17 – Mick Gatto, a criminal 00:23:19 – The Cole Royal Commission 00:27:07 – The Moran Family 00:30:46 – Gatto’s involvement in the 90’s mob wars 00:43:56 – Gatto and Dr. Teo 00:50:17 – Stephen Dank and the Essendon Football Club supplements controversy 00:52:25 – Gatto’s tax struggles 00:55:29 – Defamation lawsuits 01:01:32 – Nicola Gobbo 01:12:16 – Justin Gatto 01:20:30 – Sarah Gatto 01:24:23 – Summary & the end 🍁 𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 🍁 Your source for the life and history of infamous gangsters ... and some other stuff, too.
